Troocoo Government Tech are currently searching for a Senior Data Analyst to join an established QLD State Government Department. This is an initial 6-month contract with potential to extend, based in the CBD and paying $106.10 per hour plus super. 


The Role
As the Senior Data Analyst you will:

  • Support development of KPI’s for the effective and efficient operations of the Department.
  • Document data requirements, data dictionaries and counting rules
  • Implement general data management practices, processes, and tools.
  • Assess the quality of data and remove or clean data, as required.
  • Identify and make recommendations regarding any missing data.
  • Interrogate and establish data sets, and the development of high-level reporting documents and tools such as operational forecasts, performance reporting, workforce requirements, strategic dashboards (up to executive level), and similar.
  • Lead the development of audience-relevant data visuals: dashboards, reports, graphics, and similar.
  • Prepare reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence as required.
The Requirements
To be successful as the Senior Data Analyst you would show:
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification, definition and management of business relevant data.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing detailed data analysis, including trend analysis, report preparation and provision of recommendations to leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to analyse, interpret and solve difficult data problems, engaging team and management input to produce accurate and timely solutions.
  • Evidenced application of sound research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing business data to support ongoing improvement in service delivery.
  • Experience and understanding of program data analytics, forecasting, and modeling methodologies.
  • Exceptional document and version control, ensuring current / contextual data is provided for reporting and decision-making purposes.
  • Skills and experience in the preparation of reports and complex written documentation within a structured framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and procedures in an operational environment as this applies to data analytical activities.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks.
