Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Proactively identify strategic risks and opportunities and develop strategies to maximise opportunities and minimise risk regarding the Department’s involvement in major water infrastructure projects.
- Oversee and lead the development of contracts, funding agreements and Memoranda of Understanding for the delivery of major water infrastructure projects.
- Liaise with Australian Government officials, State agencies, project delivery proponents (e.g. local governments and Government Owned Corporations) and in-house finance and legal services.
- Oversee and lead the administration of contracts and funding agreements in accordance with approved governance and financial protocols, including payment of claims, review of project reports, milestone assessment and contract revisions as required
- Prepare of high-quality submissions, correspondence, briefing material, funding proposals and presentations.
- Other duties as directed and required.
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- some technical skills in areas such as water supply, water planning, environmental, land, cultural heritage, groundwater and infrastructure projects.
- a tertiary qualification, for example in engineering, science, project management or law.
This role is located within the Brisbane CBD and offers a hybrid work environment.
