About the role. 
The Corporate Counsel role will provide in-house legal expertise and advice across a range of commercial and legislative areas. Reporting into the Manager Legal Services, you will contribute to the strategic and operational objectives.  
  • Provide general advice to support Operations, Finance, IT and Corporate and Community functions. 
  • Provide strategic legal advice across contract reviews. 
  • Implement proactive strategies to improve controls within the Risk Management Framework.
  • Advise the business on contract review updates and status reporting regarding legal liabilities. 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Governance and Compliance across the business including Legal Risk framework. 
  • Manage outsourcing of legal services as required. 
About the Individual. 
This business important role will require that the individual can meet the following requirements; 
  • Hold a Law degree from a recognised institution with 5 Years PQE.
  • Currently registered to practice as a solicitor in Queensland. 
  • Have strong and effective communication skills both verbal and written. 
  • Bring in-house experience, with demonstrated experience in corporate and commercial law.
  • Work with accuracy in a fast paced environment. 
  • Experienced at advising on commercial contracts and experienced contractual negotiations skills. 
  • Work independently and be adaptive to changing priorities.
