About our client: 

Our client is an instantly recognisable household name within the Financial Services industry. In recent years they have led the way in the creation of wealth management products and services for their customers. Due to this expansion in their offering and associated customer acquisition, they are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join and lead this growing organisation and play a crucial role in the evolvement of the business.   
  
The Role:
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data and define business solutions.
  • Lead and develop a team of skilled Data Engineering and Data Warehouse specialists
  • Recruitment, development and retention of team members
  • Partner with on-shore and off-shore service providers
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team (SLT) to create a delivery environment which results in exceptional staff and customer satisfaction
  • Be involved in projects to drive alignment to data architecture and business transformation
  • Work closely with Enterprise and Solution Architects from across the organization as well as Technical Leads.
The Successful candidate:
  • Must have 5+ years in a senior data engineering role within an enterprise environment
  • You will have worked closely alongside Data Architects, Engineers and Analysts.
  • Experience implementing DBT Core  and hands-on experience implementing DataVault 2.0 through DBT core
  • Experience within the Financial Services industry is highly advantageous
  • You may have experience in Databricks
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD) is advantageous
  • You will have strong technical engineering skills, notably around AWS, Azure,  ETL and Data Warehousing
  • You will be highly proficient in the use of SQL and DBT
  • You will have proven achievements in developing and mentoring team members
  • You will have strong business partnering skills
