Unitywater is a statutory authority that provides water and sewerage services to the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa local authority areas on behalf of its citizens. We are governed by an independent Board and have a Participation Agreement with these councils.
 
Your Opportunity
As part of the Information Management Team, the Information Management Officer provides efficient and effective information management services, in accordance with legislative and policy requirements, by appraising, registering, indexing, sentencing, tracking, scanning, archiving and disposing of records as required.  Administration will predominately be via Unitywater’s Electronic Document and Record Management System (Objective).
 
Your Accountabilities
The position will assist and support in the provision of a professional, efficient and high quality customer focused information management service in order to achieve and maintain business and legislative information management requirements.
 
Key functions of the role include:
  • Undertake the daily duties of the Information Management team, including the processing, scanning and tracking of all incoming, outgoing and internal correspondence (where relevant), ensuring that all information is recorded, classified, profiled and stored correctly and is easily accessible for retrieval.
  • Assist to develop, review and update information management policies, procedures and the Record Keeping Plan as necessary to assist in achieving best practice outcomes.
  • In liaison with the Senior Information Management Officer, assist with the operational activities of the Information Management team.
  • Assist in the maintenance and operation of Unitywater’s archival management and inactive document storage programme in accordance with approved retention and disposal schedules.
  • Maintain an awareness of current trends and developments in Information Management and attend relevant training and workshops accordingly.
  • Participate in Unitywater safety audits and inspections to demonstrate visible safety leadership and participation.
  • Such other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the skill and knowledge requirements for this position.
 Mandatory requirements of this role are:
  • Certificate III or higher in Information Management or related discipline, or demonstrable work experience in Information Management
  • C Class Driver’s License.
 The ideal applicant will be someone who has:
  • Experience in Records and/or Information Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with an EDRMS.
  • The ability to multitask and manage tasks in a high volume work environment.
  • Sound administration skills and computer literacy.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills to positively engage with staff, stakeholders and contacts.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise activities to meet business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • A strong commitment to and demonstrated high level of Customer Service.
This position is available immediately for the right person.  While Unitywater have a hybrid working environment, you will be expected to attend the office on a regular basis.  As such, candidates should live within a commutable distance of Caboolture or the Sunshine Coast.
