Container Exchange is appointed by the Queensland government to manage and grow Queensland’s container refund scheme – Containers for Change.

About the Role.
The recently established Financial Accountant position will assist in enhancing and refining the reporting and accounting functions. This role involves supporting a comprehensive review of various areas, including month-end processes, and reporting.
In addition to these projects, the Financial Accountant will collaborate to implement positive changes that will enhance the overall financial and operational performance of the company.
- Assist with End of Month processes including relevant accruals, journals and reconciliations.
- Review P&L and balance sheet items.
- Contribute to the planning and developing of the annual plan, forecasting and financial modelling.
- Conduct analysis of variances from budgets and financial results.
- Assist and prepare for external audits.
- Maintain Fixed Assets Register.
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships.
- Assist in building a trusted and robust financial reporting team.
You must be aligned with Container Exchange values and purpose.
The ideal candidate will have;
- Tertiary qualified in Accounting/Finance with CA/CPA qualifications and have experience working in a similar role.
- A “hands on” and supportive leadership style with proven experience building and leading a high performing, engaged team.
- An inquisitive mind and an eye for detail and be able to influence and support commercial decisions.
- Strong attention to detail along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
