Troocoo are partnering with this leading Local Government Council to recruit a Category Specialist - Building & Construction. This is an exciting opportunity located in Ipswich (avoid the commute!) with scope to grow and really own the role.
This is an agency contractor position commencing ASAP until September 2024, with possible extension. Hourly rate: $79.94 p/hour + super.
Your new role will see you as a procurement business partner working across the building, infrastructure and construction portfolio.
The role:
- Contribute to coordination and delivery of category management and procurement strategies that consider optimum value for money and the achievement of Council objectives.
- Develop, enhance and implement strategies, policies and procedures relating to category management, procurement and contract management activities related to the assigned spend category.
- Support the Category Manager in providing leadership and direction on the development and delivery of procurement and contract management innovations and improvements.
- Prepare technically and commercially accurate tender documents, solicit bids, and commercially evaluate responses (liaising with customers for technical/quality support).
- Contribute to and assist in the development and implementation of category strategies, Strategic Procurement plans, procurement policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in procurement as a senior/principal procurement advisor or category specialist essential
- Understanding of Government is beneficial
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholder groups
- End to end procurement experience - sourcing, evaluations, tenders and management
