About the Role:
We are seeking a Wellbeing, Health & Safety (WHS) Operations Manager to implement WHS strategies across sites in Queensland and the Northern Territory. This pivotal role focuses on embedding WHS principles through a practical, risk-based approach, ensuring site teams thrive in a safe and supportive environment. Leading the WHS Officer, this position will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Visits: Conduct regular visits to sites to support the implementation and monitoring of WHS programs.
- Risk Management: Lead risk assessments, audits, and investigations to ensure robust WHS practices.
- Documentation: Maintain and manage health, safety, training, and risk-related documentation.
- Capability Building: Enhance WHS capabilities within site teams through training and support.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and support decision-making processes.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with WHS legal requirements and company policies.
- Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions to enhance awareness and understanding of WHS principles.
- Incident Investigation: Assist in incident investigations and present findings.
- Experience: 5+ years in WHS management, with experience in ISO45001/45003 standards.
- Leadership: Proven ability to coach and influence change.
- Project Management: Experience managing WHS project development and implementation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with incident reporting software and Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in agriculture or supply chain industries is advantageous.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in WHS/OHS, ICAM awareness, and preferably a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various communication styles.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities in complex environments.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of WHS legislation in QLD/NT.
