About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Wellbeing, Health & Safety (WHS) Officer. Reporting to the WHS Operations Manager, this role is vital in implementing, reviewing, and continuously improving WHS strategies across various sites. The WHS Officer will play a hands-on, operational role, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring a practical, risk-based approach to WHS that supports site teams.

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Wellbeing, Health & Safety (WHS) Officer. Reporting to the WHS Operations Manager, this role is vital in implementing, reviewing, and continuously improving WHS strategies across various sites. The WHS Officer will play a hands-on, operational role, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring a practical, risk-based approach to WHS that supports site teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regular travel to sites within Queensland & NT to implement and monitor WHS programs.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate WHS risks effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive WHS documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
- Provide training sessions to enhance WHS capabilities within site teams.
- Analyse health and safety metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Support incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure all site activities comply with WHS legislation and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and engagement throughout the operations.
- 5+ years in WHS management with a focus on project delivery and continuous improvement.
- Experience in agriculture or a related industry is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in managing WHS documentation and reporting systems.
- Willingness to travel across sites within QLD & NT, 2 weeks on average per month
- Certificate IV in WHS/OHS
- Relevant WHS auditing experience.
- ICAM awareness and experience.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or similar is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite and WHS incident reporting systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in challenging environments.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
