About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Wellbeing, Health & Safety (WHS) Officer. Reporting to the WHS Operations Manager, this role is vital in implementing, reviewing, and continuously improving WHS strategies across various sites. The WHS Officer will play a hands-on, operational role, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring a practical, risk-based approach to WHS that supports site teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Support: Regular travel to sites within Queensland & NT to implement and monitor WHS programs.
  • Risk Management: Conduct detailed risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate WHS risks effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive WHS documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Training & Development: Provide training sessions to enhance WHS capabilities within site teams.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze health and safety metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Incident Management: Support incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with WHS legislation and company policies.
  • Culture Building: Promote a culture of safety and engagement throughout the operations.
About You:
  • 3+ years in WHS management with a focus on project delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in agriculture or a related industry is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in managing WHS documentation and reporting systems.
  • Willingness to travel across sites within QLD & NT.
  • Certificate IV in WHS/OHS
  • Relevant WHS auditing experience.
  • ICAM awareness and experience.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or similar is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite and WHS incident reporting systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in challenging environments.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
