Test Specialist

Job description

Our client, a leading organisation in the higher education sector, is delivering a major Workforce Management (WFM) transformation and is seeking an experienced Test Specialist to support the successful delivery of this critical program.

This role will work as part of a dedicated program team, contributing to the functional and test workstreams. The Test Specialist will prepare test cases, execute manual testing across multiple test cycles, and play a key role in ensuring system quality, stability, and readiness for go-live.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Workforce Management test cases, test scripts, and test data in collaboration with program and functional teams.
  • Execute manual tests across all stages, including System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Support the Test Manager by monitoring progress, reporting on execution, and contributing to test planning.
  • Guide and assist business users through UAT, ensuring they understand and complete required testing activities.
  • Log defects and track resolution using Jira and Zephyr Scale.
  • Provide general support to the broader program as required.
Experience & Skills Essential:
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing test cases.
  • Previous experience working as a software tester within a project environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid organisational skills, with the capability to work autonomously or within a team.
Preferred:
  • Experience testing Workforce Management systems.
  • Exposure to UKG Pro (or formerly Kronos/Dimensions) is highly desirable.
