Test Lead - Asset & Works Management / Safety Systems

Troocoo is pleased to partner with this Local Government organisation based in Ipswich, delivering two key technology initiatives as part of a broader transformation program. They are seeking an experienced Test Lead to support the implementation of new Asset & Works Management (AWM) and Safety systems.

This role is offered as a 12-month contract with a hybrid working arrangement and will suit someone who can manage hands-on testing activities while coordinating with business and technical stakeholders.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work across both projects, leading the testing approach and supporting delivery through structured, well-managed testing phases.

Key responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining the Test Strategy and Test Plan
  • Creating and reviewing test scenarios and scripts across AWM and Safety solutions
  • Managing Functional UAT, System Integration, and End-to-End testing
  • Leading defect triage and managing the defect lifecycle
  • Maintaining requirements traceability and test governance
  • Producing test progress reporting, dashboards, and closure reports
  • Coordinating with SMEs, vendors, and implementation partners
  • Supporting cutover and dress rehearsal testing activities
  • Providing advice on best-practice testing approaches when required
Mandatory experience:
  • Proven experience testing Asset & Works Management and/or Safety solutions
  • Strong preference for experience with Brightly (AWM) and/or Beakon (Safety)
Essential skills and experience:
  • Strong understanding of AWM and Safety functional areas and integrations
  • Solid experience in test planning, execution, and defect management
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and coordinate testing activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience producing clear, management-level reporting
  • Ability to join an in-flight project and contribute quickly
Desirable:
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business, or a related discipline
  • Agile/Scrum and/or ISTQB certification
  • Experience with DevOps testing tools
