System Analyst

Job description

As a System Analyst, you will be joining a large Queensland Government Department who are embarking on a journey to modernise numerous backend processes within the Microsoft Platform which includes, Power Platform, Power Apps, Power Automate, Sharepoint etc.

You will be taking a leading role in identifying opportunities to migrate processes into this platform, develop project plans, develop proposed solution plans and work with development partners to implement these into a production state. Working with stakeholders will be an important aspect to ensure that solutions deliver a benefit to the business.

Key responsibilities:
  • Undertake research, critically analyse business opportunities, develop and articulate financial and resourcing strategies along with appropriate tools to facilitate the effective use of financial, physical and human resources, to support the ongoing viability of the business area and solve business issues.
  • Proactively contribute to business system improvement and development activities, including: ­
    • maintain and regularly review system processes to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and audit quality outcomes, and ensure guidelines and procedures are documented and up to date ­
    • assist with scoping business requirements for the financial functionality components of a project and contract management system ­
    • identify and assess the suitability of potential technology solutions for alignment with current and future business requirements including Microsoft applications such as Excel and Power Apps; and ­
    • take a lead role in the implementation of suitable systems solutions.
Technical/operational expertise:
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high quality project management, financial, procurement and governance tools and reports including the ability to research and critically analyse business development opportunities to develop and articulate financial and resourcing strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Power Apps, SharePoint etc. to enhance data analysis, reporting, and process automation
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities in response to business operational problems Flexible work options to be discussed during interview.
This opportunity is offered as a contract through until 30 June 2025.  Extension options are possible.  The successful candidate will be require to attend the office located in the Brisbane CBD.

This role will close Monday 10th March 2025.
