About the Role
The Spatial Data Officer is responsible for delivering customer focused systems, processes and procedures for spatial asset capture, spatial data configuration and integration.
In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the improvement of spatial data integrity and quality, and update and manage information across the integrated GIS and Asset Management Information System asset repositories.
Key Responsibilities:
The Spatial Data Officer is responsible for delivering customer focused systems, processes and procedures for spatial asset capture, spatial data configuration and integration.
In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the improvement of spatial data integrity and quality, and update and manage information across the integrated GIS and Asset Management Information System asset repositories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with asset providers to ensure the accurate collection, recording and reporting of as-constructed data using appropriate technologies such as corporate Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ADAC (Asset Design & As Constructed software) and corporate Asset Management Systems (AMS).
- Creating and maintaining a broad range of GIS datasets as required.
- Providing GIS data analysis services.
- Generation of cartographic mapping products.
- Partnering with the business to educate end users (internal and external) on asset recording tools and new technologies for collecting and supplying asset management related information.
- Using visual checks and IT based validation tools, inspect and check as-constructed records and design plans for adherence to guidelines. This may include field investigations to ensure accuracy/completeness of the data.
- Ensuring new/modified assets are accurately recorded in the asset and spatial databases.
- Relevant qualifications in Geographic Information Systems or a relevant field, or a combination of experience, expertise and competency relevant to the position
- Substantial demonstrated experience with spatial data management
- C Class Driver's License.
