Solutions Architect

Job description

The Technology Strategy & Architecture section ensures that the enterprise and solution architecture and individual solution designs are aligned to the overarching Digital & Technology Strategy and Roadmap. The team ensures that technology strategies, plans and solutions consider people, process and technology and set the standards and expectations for solution design.

The purpose of this role is to contribute as one of the leads for solution architecture and design within the enterprise. This includes providing leadership within programs and projects on solution architecture, delivering solution architecture outcomes and leading other technical resources as required to ensure technology change is documented and delivered in line with established standards and templates.

The requirements for the position are:
  • Significant experience delivering solution architecture in complex enterprises.
  • Significant experience working within established solution architecture teams within complex enterprises.
  • Significant experience delivering solution architecture in complex enterprises.
  • Strong awareness and understanding of hardware, networks, software, technologies and applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people can understand.
  • Able to manage multiple activities across business unit boundaries in areas that often involve conflicting priorities.
  • A “big picture” perspective, interested in the success of the business, success within the industry and application of best practices and next practices in the industry.
  • A blend of business acumen, enterprise technology system know-how, governance and operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and technology.
  • Enjoys constantly expanding their knowledge base, identifying and being able to form opinions on emerging trends and technologies.
  • Highly developed written, interpersonal and negotiation skills including the proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers, staff members and work units.
  • High level interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in presentation, consultation, negotiation and change management including the ability to lead consultative and working groups.
  • Generally educated in a technology discipline (such as applications development or information systems management), often with a business discipline (business, change management, operations management etc.).
Highly Desirable requirements of this role:
  • TOGAF Certified
  • ITIL Certification (or similar)
  • Qualifications at degree or post graduate level (e.g. Technology)
Offer a hybrid working environment.  It is expected that you will attend the office on a regular basis or as required by the team.  The successful candidate will need to be within a commutable distance to either of these locations.
