Software Engineer

Troocoo are working with this leading Brisbane based not-for-profit organisation in the higher education sector, to assist with finding a Junior-Mid level Software Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.  

The Software Engineer contributes to information technology of the organisation by implementing systems that are functional, accessible and fit for purpose. The position undertakes the development and maintenance of software.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities: 

• Gain a detailed understanding of business requirements and convert them into a robust and comprehensive system design
• Assist in project planning for application development and liaise with PM and BAs to create user stories and development tasks
• Monitor all systems and identify current issues and risks and take remedial action as required to correct
faults
• Liaise with testers and SMEs as needed to ensure deliverables meet business needs
• Develop and maintain systems documentation including technical design and architecture for all projects undertaken and assist in keeping the business Wiki up to date 


Essential Selection Criteria: 


• Experience in hands-on application development and maintenance
• Experience in systems integration, software development, message-based middleware, APIs, API management, data modelling, legacy integration techniques
• Expertise in developing in many technologies and languages like Java, Hibernate, Springboot, Angular, JavaScript, PowerShell
• Experience in Database systems: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, familiarity with Document based database systems such as MongoDB
• Experience in microservices architecture
• Experience in applications hosted AWS Cloud
• Experience with working in an ITIL environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computing highly regarded
