An exciting new opportunity is currently on offer for Network Engineer specialising in Cisco and Palo Alto to join this leading and innovative player in the energy sector, based in Brisbane CBD.

This is a key role within the team and will see you responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Organisations Network and Network Security platforms both in the Data Centres and in the Cloud. 

This involves the delivery, support, administration and maintenance of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Network Security Access Control and Firewall security technologies within the Organisations' ICT environment. 

Additional Key Responsibilities of the Network Engineer will be as follows;

• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to design and architect the network and network security platforms, leveraging automation and scalability to deliver self-serve and self-managed solutions.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy to seamlessly move our existing systems and applications from on-premises to the cloud environment.
• Lead and guide the technical aspects of network and network security dependant projects, providing expertise, best practices, and driving decisions to ensure successful implementation.
• Implement robust security measures and best practices to ensure data protection and compliance with industry standards.
• Establish and implement Network and Network Security policies, standards and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Monitor and optimize the Network and Network Security platforms to achieve high performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of Network and Network Security solutions with other business processes and applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the Network and Network Security platforms and provide ongoing support.
• Train and mentor junior Network Engineers to grow skills within the team and increase the overall capacity of the organisation’s Network and Network Security capability.
• Collaborate with other teams, offering guidance and support in building the Network and Network Security components of highly availability solutions.
• Identify operational risks, track them in the Operational Risk Register and implement mitigant/control initiatives within agreed timeframes.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for the Network and Network Security platforms including architecture, processes, and configurations.
•  uphold and enhance the financial management discipline to maximise the value of Network and Network Security platforms in collaboration with accountable financial stakeholders.
• Participate in Major Incidents during critical outages to drive restoration of service and provide progress updates and work with vendor support process.
• On-call: Participate in an on-call roster.

To be considered for this role, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate demonstrating the following key areas of technical competencies;

• Extensive and proven experience in Network Engineering and Network Security Engineering at a Senior Level.
• Successful track record of developing, implementing, and managing Network and Network Security environments.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing Network and Network Security technical solutions.
• Experience working with and enhancing IT Service Management processes.
• Proficient at PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of best practice security principles with Network and Network Security platforms and the mechanisms for configuring systems in line with security policies and compliance experience.
• Demonstrated capability to work with projects and diverse stakeholder teams to develop Network and Network Security solutions designs.
• Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to rapidly understand a business domain, and how technology supports its performance
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including stakeholder, vendor and senior executive interaction.
• Knowledge and experience with DevOps, Agile, Lean practices.
