Senior Manager - CHESS Replacement

The role:
The Solutions Engineering Manager is a key member of the Solution Engineering team. The role holder will be responsible for the CHESS Replacement Program based on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT).
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the software development process, providing input into design, development schedule and milestones, ensuring delivery is in line with the overall program schedule.
- Ensuring major software development milestones for the program are planned and met, on time and on budget.
- Accountable for Engineering Governance alignment for all deliverables following our engineering standards.
- Provide technology leadership and management of the Solution Engineering team which includes managing end-to-end complex technology deliveries.
- Assume a leadership role in the creation of a high performing team, including alignment with Architecture to establish target states, demand backlog, resourcing, and operating model.
- Provide thought leadership on engineering practices across the company.
- Be a key contributor to the broader engineering team, and ensure strong partnership across the functions (Engineering, Architecture, Delivery, Infrastructure, Support and Operations).
- Identify and manage the resources necessary (planning, estimation, execution) ensuring that technical and quality targets are met, while promoting the importance and value of engineering design principles, using both predictive (plan-driven) approaches or more adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
The successful candidate:
The successful candidate will currently be working in a software engineering team with experience in engineering Governance and can take responsibility for the end-to-end software delivery process across a large program of work, collaborating with business and technology stakeholders.
Superior and clear communication skills will be a key component for success as there is a complex ecosystem of stakeholders to manage and engaged with.

What’s on offer:
Salary:
An annual package from $150,000 - $200,000 + super + bonus
Location: Sydney based with hybrid working model

- Experience in managing a contemporary technology team delivering large complex programs.
- Experience with running multi cluster environments and a strong understanding of multitenancy and security implications.
- You have a background in dealing with modern Performance Engineering techniques including Performance Testing & Tuning, Diagnostics, Site Reliability Engineering, Performance Modelling and Forecasting, and Capacity Management.
- A deep understanding of contemporary engineering practices (micro-services, continuous delivery, multi-cloud, data engineering, DevSecOps).
- Proven results with introducing DevOps and Continuous Delivery Practices.
- Experience delivering major pieces of work in a complex, agile environment.
- Experience in managing legacy technology sets from both an application lifecycle and risk management perspective.
- Have a strong Operational Background managing Change, Incident and BAU activities for production systems.
