Troocoo is proud to be partnering with Mater to appoint a Senior HR Business Partner, a pivotal leadership role within their People and Learning team.

This is a true strategic partnering opportunity, working alongside Executives and Senior Leaders to align people strategy with business outcomes across a complex, purpose-led organisation.

This isn’t a transactional HR role. It’s about influencing, leading change, lifting capability, and using data-driven insights to shape workforce decisions that ultimately, support Mater’s mission of empowering people to live better lives through improved health and wellbeing.

About the role
As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to Executives, Directors and Senior Leaders. Bringing strategic perspective, commercial thinking and contemporary HR expertise.

You will:
  • Lead, mentor and develop a small team of HR professionals, ensuring high-quality partnering and alignment to Mater’s strategic priorities
  • Partner with Senior Leaders to align people strategy with business priorities
  • Lead and support organisational change, transformation and workforce optimisation initiatives
  • Use people analytics and workforce data to inform strategic workforce planning and decision-making
  • Coach leaders in performance management, talent development and succession planning
  • Drive engagement initiatives informed by survey insights and workforce metrics
  • Identify opportunities for work redesign, restructuring and capability uplift
  • Collaborate closely with Employee Relations and Industrial Relations to navigate complex and sensitive matters
  • Contribute to broader People and Learning strategy, programs and continuous improvement initiatives
This is a role for someone who thrives in complexity, is comfortable influencing at all levels, and can confidently balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.

About you
You are an experienced HR Business Partner who brings both credibility and calm to the table. You understand how organisations operate commercially and can translate business challenges into pragmatic people solutions.

You will bring:
  • Experience leading a HR team
  • 7+ years’ experience as an HR Business Partner (or significant generalist HR experience in complex environments)
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Senior Leaders and influencing strategic outcomes
  • Strong change management capability and experience supporting large-scale initiatives
  • Proven ability to leverage people data and insights to inform decision-making
  • A contemporary understanding of employee and industrial relations
  • Exceptional coaching, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities and maintain discretion in sensitive situations
  • Experience within Healthcare, Hospitality or other service-based environments will be highly regarded.
