Troocoo Government are currently aiding in the recruitment of a Senior Finance Officer to join the team within a well-established QLD State Government Department. This is a full-time contract opportunity, initially until 02/02/2024 (with potential to extend) based within the Brisbane CBD. 

This role is presented at a rate of $73.54 per hour + 11% super.

The Role
The Senior Finance Officer will be focused on developing and maintaining effective modelling, analysis, reporting and reporting solutions to
support strategic and operational decision making.

In this role you be will be required (however not limited) to:
  • Assist the Manager Analysis and Reporting to lead the development of innovative, contemporary, and fit-for purpose financial reporting solutions.
  • Lead discreet projects and engage stakeholders to determine business requirements, gather information, negotiate timeframes, and agree on solutions to design, develop, and report.
  • Responsible for maintaining pre-existing financial reporting systems, ensuring that system maintenance and updates are actioned.
  • Lead the development of documented user manuals and internal control frameworks and staff training programs in relation to the financial reporting system.
  • Assist with budget development and analysis of accuracy of budget preparation.
  • Extract financial and human resource data from large datasets, perform data analysis and interpret and communicate the results.
Your Experience
To be successful within the role as the Senior Finance Officer you would have the following demonstrated experience:
  • High level analytical skills of financial and human resource data.
  • Proven ability in designing and implementing contemporary, innovative, and fit for purpose analysis to support financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of project and change management of IT solutions, testing and training.
  • Ability to link a multitude of datasets to deliver analysis and reports process improvement, provide improved analytics, facilitate efficiencies & support evidence-based decision.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI reporting, M, DAX, VBA, Excel, MS Access reporting.
  • A knowledge of accounting and related business solutions to support requests for financial information.
  • Experience in a financial reporting role in a complex organisation.
  • High level consultative and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to build rapport and interact with clients.
