Our client is an instantly recognizable household name in the Financial Services industry. In recent years they have led the way in the creation of wealth management products and services for their customers. They are looking to strengthen their already high performing team with the addition of a newly created Lead Data Engineer position.
  
The role:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building data assets using AWS. You will work alongside a team of Managers, Solution Architects and Engineers in distributed Agile teams. Bring your passion for technology, proactively sharing your skills and expertise.
  
Responsibilities:

• Lead detailed design ensuring alignment to data warehousing, solution architecture and data modelling requirements, strategy, roadmaps and business outcomes.
• Provide expert technical advice on handling data assets, data quality and applications.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to enhance new and existing data platforms
• You will create high-level designs, data models and perform investigations and validation of designs and assumptions
• Maintain development environments and tools including Jenkins pipelines & data acquisition.
• Coordination of deployment and release activities for the team
• Identify technical and process improvements that will benefit the business
• Develop and implement data governance and architectural frameworks

The successful candidate:

• Proven experience working with AWS and Redshift
• You will have experience working in complex data warehouse and BI environments
• You will have a deep understanding of databases, data storage and data movement tools with the ability optimise development
• It will be advantageous to have experience in Java, Python or Unix.
• Experience in the application of Agile and Lean approaches is key
• Good exposure to setting up and maintaining development environments and tools including Jenkins & data acquisition
