Duties:
In this role you will be responsible for leading national safety initiatives, managing incident and audit registers and overseeing risk management. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Manage all safety aspects across national construction operations and warehouse facilities, ensuring zero major incidents.
  • Ensure WSHE regulation and industry standard compliance with regular, successful audits.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize warehouse risks, conduct timely audits, and train staff, resulting in high compliance and reduced incidents.
  • Plan and execute annual Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) rollout, ensuring high compliance and effective training.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive safety reports to the executive team, maintaining thorough audit registers.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and Pre-Start Risk Assessments (PSRA) with high staff participation.
  • Oversee safety guidelines implementation in construction and warehouse spaces, fostering an improved safety culture.
  • Maintain and manage the business-wide risk register, developing strategies to minimize operational risks.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring positive outcomes.
  • Stay updated on safety regulations and industry best practices, applying them effectively.
  • Monitor and manage safety-related KPIs, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
What you will bring:
  • Nationally certified qualification in Workplace Safety, Health, and Environment (WSHE).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and safety management software.
  • Experience in managing incident registers and conducting safety audits.
  • Strong understanding of safety management in the construction and warehouse industries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in the electrical industry preferred.
