About the Organisation
  
A growing financial services institution is seeking a commercially minded Risk Analyst to support the uplift of risk and compliance practices across the business. Operating in a highly regulated environment, the organisation is focused on strong governance, practical risk management, and a positive risk culture.
  
The Opportunity
  
This role is assurance weighted, with a strong focus on second line oversight, control testing, and improving control effectiveness. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will partner closely with stakeholders across the business, supporting both assurance activity and broader operational risk and compliance responsibilities.
  
Key Responsibilities
  
You will contribute to assurance delivery and broader risk and compliance activities, including:
  
Assurance and second line oversight
  • Deliver control testing across risk and compliance obligations, including analysis, documentation, and reporting of outcomes;
  • Provide second line quality oversight of first line activities, identifying gaps, trends, and improvement opportunities;
  • Support breach and incident assessments, including analysis, reporting, escalation, and follow up actions;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through practical recommendations and remediation tracking;
  • Assist with due diligence activities linked to organisational change or new initiatives.
Risk and compliance activities
  • Maintain and support the governance, risk and compliance system for BAU risk and compliance management;
  • Conduct operational risk assessments for new processes, emerging risks, or changes across business units;
  • Partner with stakeholders to review, analyse, and manage operational risks and compliance requirements;
  • Support policy and procedure review and drafting where required
  • Monitor compliance with risk tolerances and contribute to periodic reporting for leadership and governance forums;
  • Support vendor risk management compliance activities in line with internal policy requirements.
Successful Candidate
  
You will bring a pragmatic mindset, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to communicate with stakeholders across multiple teams.
  
Essential
  • Experience in risk, compliance, assurance, or controls testing within a regulated environment, financial services experience highly regarded;
  • Exposure to second line oversight or assurance reviews, including control testing and reporting;
  • Experience with governance, risk and compliance systems or similar risk and compliance tooling;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate obligations into practical actions;
  • Commercial mindset with sound judgement and a focus on operational excellence.
Desirable
  • Exposure to credit, collections, customer operations, or contact centre environments;
  • Strong capability and confidence interpreting and presenting data;
  • Experience contributing to risk and compliance reporting for leadership and governance forums.
