Review Officer
Job description
We are actively seeking an experienced Review Officer to progress external review applications and to conduct independent timely and fair merits reviews of decisions made under Queensland information access laws.

- Conduct the day-to-day file management of external reviews under the direction of a delegated decision maker according to the requirements of the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).
- Engage in phone and written communication with a range of stakeholders to establish rapport, gather information, provide views, and identify and promote the resolution of reviews.
- Identify the relevant factual and legal issues for consideration in an external review with reference to the interests of review participants.
- Conduct statutory interpretation, legal and general research and provide briefings to decision makers as to the direction of external reviews.
- Prepare draft reasons for decision and preliminary view correspondence in Plain English for consideration by the delegated decision maker.
- Work collaboratively with other external review officers and staff in the organisation
- Contribute to the development of organisational knowledge management resources.
