Records and Archives Officer
Job description
We are seeking a Records and Archives Officer to join the Records Digitisation Project team. This is a site-based role that combines desk-based processing tasks with some manual handling of archive boxes.
The role will contribute to the preparation, quality checking and cataloguing of records, ensuring they are processed accurately and ready for digitisation and transfer. It will also involve supporting the vendor, documenting processes, and adapting to evolving project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare physical records for scanning, ensuring integrity and accuracy.
- Quality check scanned records and process data entry requirements (barcoding and indexing).
- Assist with discovery and testing of scanning methods and record-handling processes.
- Assemble and prepare archive boxes, ensuring correct storage and tracking.
- Support and collaborate with external vendors, including helping document workflows and methodologies.
- Identify and escalate issues or preservation requirements.
- Adapt to process changes and assist in identifying efficiencies.
- Undertake manual handling tasks (moving boxes and retrieving records).
- Provide updates and reports to track progress.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience in data entry, records, archiving or information management is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with both desk-based and physical tasks.
- Adaptable, with a flexible approach to changing project requirements.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow processes closely.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
- 100% site-based at Stafford
- Facilities include air-conditioned office area, kitchen, bathrooms, and secure parking.
- $38/hr + based on experience
- 6 month contract (with strong potential to extend)
- Immediate start essential
- Full-time, Mon to Fri with flexible hours available
