Project Manager / Solution Architect

Job description

I am excited to be partnering with a dynamic agency within Queensland Government assisting them to engage a Project Manager with experience in Solution Architecture, to support a newly established program in its foundation phase.   

Reporting the Project Director, you will:
  • Define in detail the project scope, in alignment with the program objectives to implement a technical proof-of-concept solution that enables a consolidated view of enquiries, and tracking mechanisms, as well as real-time analytics.
  • Lead a team of two Business Analysts, and a Developer to implement the project scope, which includes the above-mentioned technical POC as well as the detailed business requirements to inform procurement of a technology solution for the next phase of the program.
  • Ensure that the project produces the required outputs within the specified performance (i.e. time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits) 
  • Informed by the departments technology platform and requirements (i.e. security/scalability etc.), and the program objectives (including interfacing with other agencies systems), design the solution architecture.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality project artefacts such as project plan, progress reports, RAID (Risk, Action, Issue and Decision register), requirements, and transition to BAU documents.
  • Prepare for the potential transition to BAU of the technical POC by producing high-quality documentation, and facilitation of handover sessions if/where required.
  • Support the identification of options, risks, issues and benefits (including cost-benefit analysis) related to a future-state organisation, for inclusion in a detailed Business Case.
To be successful in this role, you must have
  • Bachelor of Information Technology or equivalent
  • Proven experience in leading the implementation of complex technical solutions (preferably customer relationship management solution, or complaint management solutions)
  • Experience in contributing to change programs, preferably within the context of digital transformation or modernisation initiatives.
  • Experience in working on cross-agency technical projects or programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and documenting appropriate technical solutions, to meet business needs, that are in alignment with standards, policies and frameworks i.e. Queensland Government Consistent User Experience Standards,
  • Knowledge of both agile and traditional waterfall methodologies, management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
