Project Manager - Boating Infrastructure
Job description
Troocoo are seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of critical marine infrastructure projects — from maintenance to future capital works — across Queensland’s diverse maritime space.
The role is responsible for the end-to-end management of boating infrastructure projects, primarily within the maintenance stream, with secondary responsibilities supporting the planning and development of future capital projects.
The position ensures effective delivery of projects across Queensland’s extensive boating infrastructure portfolio, including boat ramps, pontoons, floating walkways, jetties, and breakwaters. The role is non-engineering in nature, focusing on governance, procurement, project management, and stakeholder coordination, allowing engineering resources to focus on technical assurance and design quality.
The successful applicant will ensure all projects align with the government’s framework, OnQ methodology, and Maritime Infrastructure Investment Programme reporting and assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
As part of the team, you’ll manage the full project lifecycle of small to medium-sized marine infrastructure projects, including:
- Delivering maintenance projects across boat ramps, pontoons, floating walkways, jetties, and breakwaters.
- Supporting the early planning of future capital infrastructure investments.
- Leading procurement and contract management processes.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope.
- Coordinating with internal teams, contractors, local councils, and other key stakeholders.
- Reporting against the department’s OnQ project governance and financial requirements.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a capable, proactive project manager with:
- Minimum 5 years' project management experience in infrastructure or asset management
- Proven ability to deliver small-to-medium civil or marine projects
- Strong procurement and contract administration knowledge
- Solid grasp of financial governance, cost tracking, and reporting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Familiarity with the department’s OnQ lifecycle, or other gated frameworks (PRINCE2, PMBOK)
- Experience with tools such as SAP, MS Project, or 3PCM (desirable)
