About the role & Product – Product Owner - IGE :

CostX is RIB’s award-winning takeoff and cost estimation platform which is used in over 90 countries worldwide, connecting all people, processes, and data across the lifecycle of a construction project. 

Reporting to the CostX Portfolio Senior Product Manager, this role is responsible for planning, developing, executing, and reporting on the 2D and 3D BIM quantity take-off + document viewer capabilities of IGE and E3D products.
You will provide expertise in BIM and quantity take-off from design documentation, help to develop new ideas and innovations, manage and prioritise the backlog, and collaborate with customers, prospects, external partners, and internal teams to gather user and technical requirements, document workflows and develop design specs.

Key responsibilities of the Product Owner - IGE:
  • Work with the Senior Product Manager to define the core product vision, strategy, and goals for IGE and E3D products.
  • Drive product roadmap execution, managing and communicating project timelines, anticipating deviations from plan, and proactively identifying and recommending solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and innovations in CAD software technology and BIM file formats and standards.
  • Capture the voice of the customer, identify pain points, and specify requirements for current and future products by conducting market research programs and client interactions.
  • Evolve and refine conceptual designs into clear design specifications that are broken down into actionable tasks and stories for development.
What will you need to be successful in this role?
  • Knowledge of commonly used construction design software packages and their associated file formats, and/or BIM standards such as IFC.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in an agile development environment in a product management, product owner, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in quantity take-off as part of construction cost estimating is very highly regarded.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and risks, as well as problems, inefficiencies, and inconsistencies, and propose solutions that drive demonstrable improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to complex problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to define your argument/tell the story in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
