Senior Procurement Specialist

The Company
With a rich history in Australia, this organisation is made up of several entities focused within the resource sector that brings a certain level of complexity and diversification to the group. Due to an increase in workload, the Procurement team are hiring a Senior Procurement Specialist on a 6-month fixed term contract.
  
The Role
Reporting into the Group Manager, Procurement & Supply Chain, this role will undertake sourcing and contract lifecycle activities across the group for all materials supply and service contracts for ongoing operational and capital requirements.
  
Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage the sourcing process for supply agreements within the operations.
  • Work with internal customers to fully understand their procurement needs and ensure that these are delivered through the broader Procurement network.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to stakeholders in the preparation of acquisition, tender, assessment, risk management, negotiation, contracts, and contract management plans and documentation.
  • Determine appropriate contracting models, deriving volume synergies where possible, whilst balancing and maintaining local service levels.
  • Develop strong, customer focused relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support Contract Owners to achieve contract compliance in accordance with company standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Analyse and challenge demand drivers across all categories of spend.
  • Ensure maintenance of proper and strong business relationships with supply base.
  • Ensure appropriate consideration of local support objectives and communicate this effectively during engagement.
  • Provide support to the Contracts and Procurement Superintendent in relation to procurement and contract management requirements.
Skills & Experience
  • Prior experience within an end-to-end senior procurement role
  • Resources, manufacturing, heavy industry experience is highly advantageous
  • Excellent pre-award procurement knowledge and experience, not limited to strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver results within a deadline driven environment
  • Proven track record of delivering savings in previous roles
  • Pragmatic and value driven
  • SAP knowledge is desirable but not essential
