The role:

The Procurement Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor and connector between procurement and business units, ensuring organisational objectives are supported through effective sourcing strategies. This role translates business requirements into procurement solutions, fosters strong stakeholder relationships, and drives compliance with policies and governance frameworks. By managing end-to-end procurement activities and promoting continuous improvement, you will deliver value for money while bridging the gap between operational needs and strategic outcomes. This role is a fixed two year contract. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end procurement and contract management processes, from tender initiation to contract close-out.
  • Provide expert advice on RFQs, tender evaluations, contracts, risk management, and commercial decision-making to ensure compliance and quality outcomes.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive procurement maturity initiatives, including optimising processes, negotiating improved terms, and monitoring supplier performance.
  • Support and mentor divisional teams to enhance procurement capabilities and foster a culture of accountability and transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and standards.
Skills and experience: 
  • Proven experience in a Procurement Business Partner, Procurement Specialist, Sourcing Specialist or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience across facilities and/or repairs and maintenance categories within a heavy industry setting will be highly regarded.
  • Exceptional contract management skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and manage contract risk.
  • Experience in preparing tender and contract documentation across a wide range of procurement engagements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
