Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise GIS platforms and spatial databases.
- Oversee installation, configuration, and performance of GIS software, web portals, and mobile mapping applications.
- Maintain data quality, integrity, and metadata standards across council’s spatial repositories.
- Deliver advanced spatial analysis, modelling, and visualisation to support data-driven decisions.
- Provide expert GIS advice and act as a technical escalation point for complex spatial matters.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and lead implementation of approved enhancements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to ensure accurate, efficient, and accessible spatial data services.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and methods in the GIS and geospatial fields.
- Extensive experience in enterprise GIS management, database administration, and web GIS delivery.
- Strong technical expertise in ESRI ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) and FME.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, or Arcade for data modelling, scripting, and process automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing complex data environments.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, or Information Management, or equivalent industry experience.
