Policy Officer

Job description

Troocoo is seeking an experienced Policy Officer to lead project management activities for a systemic review project and undertake a review of legislation in a critical area that works to better Queenslanders lives.

This role will work as part of a small team to support and identify systemic issues affecting victims of crime and to prepare advice and recommendation about improving policy, practices and procedures to support the rights of victims of crime.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Lead project management activities for the department's systemic review projects to ensure timely achievement of quality outputs that meet the project’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead and undertake research and analysis related to complex policy and legislative problems affecting victims of crime.
  • Develop options and formulate advice and proposals, including drafting recommendations to government and non-government agencies related to issues affecting victims of crime.
  • Undertake consultation with diverse stakeholders including liaising, as directed, with internal and external stakeholders on matters affecting victims of crime.
  • Prepare discussion papers, briefs, reports, correspondence and other documentation for different audiences.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including the Communications and Engagement team to develop accessible resources and information relating to the work of the department.
  • Contribute to building a positive shared culture across the department including by providing guidance and support to less experienced officers.
