Position Summary:

The HR Business Partner (HR BP) will play a critical role in partnering with managers and leaders to facilitate an exceptional people experience. The HR BP aims to enhance engagement, retention, productivity, and the achievement of operational and strategic objectives within Centacare Services.
As a trusted advisor and ally, the HR BP will provide accurate and timely HR advisory services and influence managers in the delivery of HR solutions to support Centacare's strategic plan and regulatory obligations. This role demands a proactive approach to building relationships, managing HR operations, and driving change management processes.

Key Accountabilities:
Business Partnering:
  • Build and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders and external parties.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to managers for effective people management.
  • Facilitate performance appraisals and promote professional growth.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement programs in collaboration with internal teams.
HR Operations:
  • Lead HR processes including role design, remuneration, , performance management, and compliance.
  • Adapt and improve HR services to meet the operational needs of different directorates.
Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the HR Advisor.
  • Support and develop the HR Advisor in ER processes and escalate matters as needed.
Employee and Industrial Relations:
  • Advise on policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Conduct investigations, disciplinary meetings and respond to Fair Work matters.
  • Stay updated on industrial relations trends and changes.
Change Management:
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver HR strategies and projects.
  • Act as a change agent to drive culture change.
General:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Uphold the Archdiocese’s commitment to safeguarding children and adults at risk.
  • Identify opportunities for First Nations Australia people in the workplace.
Performance Indicators:
  • Timely and accurate HR advisory services.
  • Positive feedback from supervisors and client groups.
  • Compliance with HR policies and frameworks.
  • HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and absenteeism.
Key Stakeholders:
  • Internal: Centacare Services HR Team, AoB People & Culture Team, client group managers and employees.
  • External: Fair Work Commission/Ombudsman, unions, Access EAP.
Incumbent Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar HR BP or Senior HR Advisory role, preferably in the community services sector.
  • Expertise in performance management and employee relations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High-level customer service and responsiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of current HR practices and Australian Industrial legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems (Aurion, Job Adder, HROnboard).
  • Valid driver’s license, blue card, criminal history check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, and work rights in Australia.
