We are recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join a leading organisation in the utilities sector, based in Brisbane’s CBD. This is an initial 6-month contract role supporting the business through a busy period. As Payroll Manager, you will take full ownership of payroll operations, leading a small team and ensuring the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll services. You’ll play a key role in streamlining processes, managing relationships across finance and people teams, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll for a diverse and growing workforce
- Lead and support a small team of payroll professionals
- Ensure compliance with tax, superannuation, and employment legislation
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation
- Drive payroll process improvements and support systems optimisation
- Proven experience in a Payroll Manager or Payroll Lead position
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, EBAs, and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors or similar platforms (highly desirable)
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Confident communicator with a collaborative leadership style
