A well-known purpose driven organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll & Workforce Lead to support payroll operations and workforce planning across a complex workforce.
This role sits between the finance and HR teams and works closely with operational leaders to improve rostering processes, ensure payroll accuracy, and maintain compliance with modern awards and enterprise agreements.
You will also act as a key support to the Payroll Manager and play an important role in payroll reporting, workforce visibility and payroll governance.

This role sits between the finance and HR teams and works closely with operational leaders to improve rostering processes, ensure payroll accuracy, and maintain compliance with modern awards and enterprise agreements.
You will also act as a key support to the Payroll Manager and play an important role in payroll reporting, workforce visibility and payroll governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely payroll processing in line with Australian payroll legislation
- Support managers with rostering and time & attendance processes using Employment Hero
- Monitor timesheet accuracy, missed clock-ins and payroll exceptions
- Provide guidance on award interpretation, penalties, overtime and allowances
- Support payroll reporting including overtime, leave and labour cost analysis
- Assist with payroll audits and complex payroll matters
- Act as backup to the Payroll Manager where required
- 5+ years payroll experience within Australia
- Strong knowledge of Fair Work legislation, modern awards and enterprise agreements
- Experience with Employment Hero or similar payroll systems
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills
- Ability to work with managers to improve rostering and workforce planning processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain payroll processes clearly
