Our client is an iconic Australian brand within the global financial services sector. As an organisation they have invested heavily into their data environments, building advanced analytics platforms, which they view as key to driving digital transformation across the business.
In addition to driving digital transformation to improve operations, they are using it to address changes in both local and international regulation. At the heart of these programmes of work is data transformation.
  
The role:                                                             
  
You will take a key role in driving data transformation across the bank. You will assume the role of a Lead tech business analyst working within our client’s capital market and treasury divisions. This is a true consulting role as you will meet senior stakeholder across the business, spend time understanding their operational goals and educate them on what is and isn’t possible to achieve through data transformation.
  
Specific responsibilities will include:
  
Lead stakeholder interviews to gather business requirements, identifying key data and information needed to meet operational goals. Translating this into functional requirements
Take a lead in educating the business on the importance of data quality and data management principles
Bridge the gap between the business and technical teams, work closely with data analysts and ETL developers ensuring data is fit for purpose
Analysis of current data sources within the enterprise data warehouse
Implement data management tools and data governance frameworks
Onboard new data sources/pipelines, ensure the project is managed seamless working with both business and technical teams
Deliver “best in class” solutions across data analytics, data governance and reporting solutions
  
The successful candidate will be able to satisfy the following criteria:
  
Minimum eight years working as a business analyst/technical business analyst
Minimum six years experience working in data environments, this could be across the data warehouse, BI or big data environments
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to educate non data people on data
Proven experience mapping data requirements and implementing data governance principles
Strong SQL skills, proven ability to write SQL scripts and analyse data sets
Proven experience working across the ETL process, ability to work closely and translate requirements ETL teams
Work with data frameworks and have an understanding of data quality and its importance to project success
Solid understanding of banking sector, specifically working within Capital markets or treasury environments
Worked on regulatory driven data projects, such as Basel III, APRA, BCBS239
Knowledge of regulatory reporting principles would be advantageous
