About the role:
As COEX continue to grow across the nation developing several innovative recycling solutions for Australian’s, there is now an opportunity for a Media Advisor to join their busy team in Brisbane.
The primary responsibility of the Media Advisor is to deliver the positive positioning of Container Exchange and the Containers for Change Scheme by building engagement, education, awareness and trust across customers, community, media, and industry. The role manages media relations and develops and implements best-practice communications, and corporate and community relations programs which are aligned and support COEX outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and manage the implementation of the COEX integrated communication and engagement plan in line with the Strategic and Operational Plan.
- Lead the COEX and Scheme media relations and public relations including the identification and development of proactive and reactive media plans and external-risk mitigation plans.
- Contribute to the development and manage the implementation of community engagement, education, and advocacy campaigns.
- Lead the design and implementation of engagement activities to influence industry bodies which will generate support and commitment to COEX and the Scheme.
- Provide informed advice internally on reputation management and stakeholder engagement, including leading and being a member of ad hoc project teams.
- Provide responses to key government stakeholders including statements, releases, media briefs and speaking points
- Design and deliver content and briefings to stakeholders including the community, government and corporate partners as required.
- Degree in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations Marketing.
- 10+ years’ experience in public relations and/or media management.
- High level media and public relations skills to proactively manage and engage stakeholders.
- Proven experience in the development and implementation of highly effective media engagement strategies and campaigns.
- Ability to identify and respond effectively to emerging issues and mitigate risks.
- Ability to work as part of an effective and cohesive team.
