About the role

Reporting into the Logistics Manager, the Inventory Manager is responsible for managing COEX’s expanding equipment and asset pool through the effective management of third part logistics providers, and equipment service suppliers. This is an autonomous role managing the inventory operations network across various locations in Queensland and when required, will also provide coverage to COEX’s Logistics Manager.

This role requires travel across Queensland on a monthly basis and offers flexible working arrangements, up to 2-days WFH per week.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Identify any equipment availability constraints early, escalating with proposed solutions to COEX’s Logistics Manager as and where required.
  • Support COEX’s Logistics Manager in the design and implementation of a Contract/Supplier Performance Management framework across all supply chain service providers.
  • Monitor and manage COEX’s logistics related supplier performance ensuring compliance with agreed contract deliverables.
  • Provide 3PL providers with clear direction and ensure adherence to COEX’s requirements re the operation of the warehouse (pick and pack, stocktakes and reconciliation, reporting of stock on hand of stored items which includes wheelie bins and bags and merchandising and marketing items).
  • Understand and drive workplace health and safety requirements that apply to COEX’s operating environment.
  • Work with the Operations Regional Management team, ensuring collection infrastructure is available and in place to support network organic growth and refund point expansion activities.
  • Provide insights to management in respect to the equipment pool, highlighting opportunities for efficiencies and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally within COEX to have a detailed understanding of future 3PL requirements.
  • Validate and process supplier invoices, ensuring they are received in a timely manner and presented accurately with the relevant supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all Internal and External stakeholders have clear knowledge and understanding of the warehouse capabilities and deliverables.
  • Develop tools, reports and KPI’s through IT applications which provide insights into Asset utilisation and future Asset location assignment.
About you

This role will suit someone with a background across Logistics, Transport, and/or Warehouse operations with a strong understanding of inventory management and coordination across multiple locations.
  • Extensive experience within a similar hands-on role is required
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of supplier performance and contract management principles
  • Strong understating of workplace health and safety regulations and compliance
  • NHVL – National Heavy Vehicle Law and Regulations knowledge will be highly regarded
  • Experience within inventory/warehouse management systems is essential
  • Driver’s licence and availability to utilise own motor vehicle when required
Applicants with tertiary qualifications and further training within operations management, logistics and supply chain or a related field will be held in high regard.
