About the Opportunity

Troocoo are proud to be representing a major national contractor in the recruitment of their next WA based HR Team Leader. 

About the Role

Reporting to the HR Manager, this position leads a team of four (Senior HR Advisor + three HR Advisors) and partners closely with leaders across corporate, workshops, civil infrastructure, civil resources and mining projects.

The person stepping into this role will be trusted with significant influence, working across strategic ER/IR matters, enterprise agreements, stakeholder engagement and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of HR Advisors.
• Review tender and prequalification documentation to ensure compliance with client IR requirements and best practice.
• Attend project start-up and demobilisation meetings, setting clear expectations aligned to HR strategy.
• Lead enterprise agreement negotiations (five agreements within portfolio).
• Provide high-level advice on complex ER/IR matters, investigations, grievances and disputes.
• Manage union right of entry, leader awareness and day-to-day engagement in collaboration with clients.
• Monitor changes in the ER/IR landscape and upskill leaders on emerging risks and best practice.
• Support HR and IR strategic initiatives.
• Assist with remuneration reviews, benchmarking and market surveys.
• Ensure HR/IR deliverables meet commercial and client obligations.
• Represent the organisation in external claims and hearings where required.
• Identify emerging ER/IR risks and opportunities across the business.
• Maintain and develop ER/IR policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Build trusted relationships with internal leaders, unions and external advisors.
• Facilitate consultation for major workplace change initiatives.
• Produce accurate forecasting and reporting.
• Undertake regular site visits across WA.
• Additional duties as required by the business.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in HR, IR, Law or a related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Highly developed analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Experienced negotiator with sound conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to coach leaders through complex ER/IR matters.
• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
• Background in civil and/or mining sectors (highly regarded).
• Demonstrated experience leading a team.
• Experience negotiating enterprise agreements (including multi-agreement portfolios).
