HR Business Partner

Troocoo are proud to partner with a well-established, national organisation operating within a complex industrial environment to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner to support its Operations division across multiple sites.
This role is suited to a commercially minded HR professional with deep ER and IR capability who enjoys working closely with operational leaders. You’ll act as a trusted advisor, balancing employee relations matters with broader strategic and project-based work.
The role offers strong autonomy while being well supported by an experienced and collaborative HR leadership team, including an HR Manager – Operations and an IR Business Partner, within a genuinely supportive team culture. Occasional travel to site will be required.

The opportunity
You will partner with senior operational leaders across multiple sites, providing practical and commercially focused HR advice in a fast-paced, unionised environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with senior leaders to provide pragmatic HR advice aligned to operational needs
- Supporting leaders in managing performance, conduct, capability and workforce risk
- Building strong relationships across operational teams and geographically dispersed sites
- Managing ER matters including grievances, disciplinary processes, disputes and terminations
- Leading complex investigations and ensuring procedural fairness
- Managing Fair Work Commission matters as required
- Providing advice on Enterprise Agreements and employment legislation
- Active involvement in Enterprise Agreement negotiations
- Supporting salary banding, remuneration structures and allowance reviews
- Engaging with unions where required
- Acting as the first point of contact for people-related matters across assigned sites
Leading or contributing to key people initiatives and change programs, including:
- HRIS (UKG) implementation
- Skills matrix development
- Engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Psychological safety programs
- Wages-to-salary initiatives
- Major operational change and turnaround projects
- Collaborating closely within a strong, supportive People & Capability team
- Mentoring and supporting an HR Advisor
- Contributing to continuous improvement across HR governance and processes
- Proven experience in a generalist HR or HR Business Partner role with strong ER and IR exposure
- Background in manufacturing, mining, heavy industry or distribution environments
- Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Agreements and industrial relations frameworks
- Demonstrated experience managing complex ER matters and Fair Work cases
- Confidence influencing senior leaders in operational settings
- High resilience, sound judgement and ability to manage competing priorities.
