HR Business Analyst
Job description
We are currently seeking an HR Business Analyst to join a large Queensland Department delivering on critical infrastructure for the state.
This exciting opportunity is working across a strategic departmental initiative designed to modernise, streamline, and automate the end-to-end recruitment process. Its primary objectives are to reduce administrative burden, enhance the quality and speed of decision-making, and deliver a more consistent recruitment experience.
As a Human Resources Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping this modernised recruitment framework—translating stakeholder insights into practical system and process improvements, driving automation, and ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead the design, documentation, and refinement of business requirements and workflows to support recruitment process improvements.
- Collaborate with employment delegates, panel chairs, HR staff, and business support teams to gather insights and translate them into actionable system and process enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and workflow integration using platforms such as Springboard or PowerApps to streamline approvals, documentation, and candidate communications.
- Ensure all process improvements align with departmental goals, whole-of-government compliance standards, and broader workforce strategy initiatives.
Desirable Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in business analysis, ideally within HR and/or the public sector.
- Proven capability in designing HR processes, implementing automation, and working with HR technology platforms.
- Strong understanding of recruitment and selection practices, candidate experience, and compliance requirements.
- Prior experience working within government environments is highly valued.
