Job description

Reporting to a Senior Human Resources Advisor/Team Leader, the Human Resources Advisor is a critical member of the People Advisory team. You will act as a trusted first point of contact for employees and people leaders, providing expert advice, coaching, and support on operational HR matters. You will also contribute to key projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery across the organisation.

The People Advisory team sits within the broader People Partnering function and delivers high-quality, consistent advice across the entire employee lifecycle. Operating as a centralised service, the team maximises positive outcomes for individuals and the organisation in alignment with the organisations values and strategic priorities.


This is a dynamic role suited to a proactive HR professional who is comfortable navigating complex and sensitive matters while driving capability uplift and positive change.

Key Responsibilities People Advisory & Support
  • Provide high-quality, consistent HR advice and subject matter expertise across the employee lifecycle, including probation, flexible work, performance agreements, and conduct matters.
  • Coach and support leaders to build capability in managing people matters.
  • Manage sensitive and complex employee relations issues, including informal and formal performance management.
  • Interpret and advise on the Agency Enterprise Agreement and relevant policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and triage requests via the Service Delivery Tool, ensuring timely resolution or escalation of complex matters.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant HR records in line with privacy requirements.
Operations & Service Delivery
  • Contribute to the delivery of cyclical People initiatives and enterprise-wide programs.
  • Develop and maintain effective systems to support centralised service delivery.
  • Coordinate operational support for organisational change activities, including restructures, redeployment, outplacement, and site relocations or closures.
  • Centrally coordinate the Agency Rewards and Promotions process, including appeal processes.
  • Monitor service levels and contribute to workload optimisation within the team.
  • Support communications regarding People services, policies, and programs.
About You
  • You are a confident and solutions-focused HR professional with:
  • Demonstrated experience providing operational HR advice across the employee lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and enterprise agreements.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and adjust priorities as needed.
  • A strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and respectful workplace practices.
  • Experience working in a centralised or shared services HR model (desirable).
