Job description

About G8 Education

G8 Education Limited (ASX: GEM) is one of Australia’s leading providers of early learning education and care, operating a national network of more than 400 centres across multiple trusted brands. As a listed organisation, G8 operates in a highly regulated and high-visibility environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance and performance.

At the heart of G8’s strategy is its purpose: to nurture the greatness in every child to grow, thrive and learn. This is underpinned by a best-in-class Education Strategy, strong centre leadership, and a commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes for children, families and communities across Australia

About the role:

The Head of Network Operations is a critical senior leadership role responsible for driving national operational performance across G8 Education’s extensive early learning network. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure centres operate safely, compliantly and sustainably while delivering high-quality education and care outcomes aligned to the National Quality Framework and G8’s broader organisational strategy,

In addition to overseeing day-to-day operational performance, the role plays a pivotal role in translating strategy into execution at scale. The Head of Network Operations acts as the key conduit between centre operations, regional leadership and the corporate executive team, bringing structure, discipline and insight to complex operational environments. This includes leading network planning to ensure initiatives are sequenced realistically, centre capacity is protected, and competing priorities are effectively managed.

With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, workforce optimisation, occupancy performance and stakeholder collaboration, the role is central to enabling sustainable growth, improving operational efficiency and strengthening consistency across the national network.

Specifically, key accountabilities include:
  • Providing national operational leadership across G8’s centre network, driving consistency, performance and compliance
  • Translating organisational strategy into clear, scalable operational frameworks and execution plans
  • Leading a central operations support function focused on performance insight, discipline and delivery
  • Driving network-wide performance across occupancy, labour efficiency, wage control and cost management
  • Overseeing network planning and capacity management to ensure initiatives are sequenced realistically and centres are not overloaded
  • Strengthening the connection between operations and marketing to ensure campaigns are operationally executable and drive occupancy outcomes
  • Delivering high-quality reporting and insights to the Executive Leadership Team and Board, including Power BI dashboards
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the COO and ELT on operational risk, performance and execution
  • Supporting regulatory compliance, risk management and serious incident oversight at a network level
  • Building strong cross-functional partnerships across Property, Finance, People & Culture, Marketing, Education and Digital
The Head of Network Operations:

You are a commercially astute, people-centred operational leader with experience leading at scale in complex, highly regulated environments. You bring the credibility, maturity and confidence required to operate within a listed organisation, partnering effectively with executive leaders and influencing outcomes at the highest level.

You offer strong senior operational leadership across large, multi-site or distributed networks, underpinned by sound financial and data capability. You are comfortable interrogating performance data, using dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI highly regarded), and translating insights into practical, network-wide actions that drive occupancy, efficiency and sustainable results, without compromising quality or compliance.

Your leadership style is calm, structured and collaborative, enabling you to build trust, align stakeholders and drive execution across functions. While early childhood experience is not essential, backgrounds in education, healthcare, aged care, human services, large service organisations or consulting environments are highly valued.
