About the Opportunity

This senior position will be pivotal in delivering the organisation’s Assurance Map and Annual Assurance Plan, managing outsourced Internal Audit programs, and embedding best-practice governance and compliance across all operations.

This role is critical in ensuring services remain client-centred, safe, and effective while supporting the organisation’s strategic priorities and mission.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Assurance team
  • Design, maintain, and deliver the Annual Assurance Plan
  • Manage outsourced Internal Audit providers and oversee assurance projects
  • Conduct spot checks, risk control testing, and audit follow-ups
  • Provide insights and advice to senior leadership, Council, and Committees
  • Translate complex governance frameworks into practical actions for service teams
  • Drive a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and psychological safety
About You:
  • Proven leadership in Assurance and Internal Audit, ideally within human services, health, or complex community organisations
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks
  • Experience managing outsourced audit providers and large-scale assurance programs
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and analytical skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in assurance, risk, governance, business, law, or related field
  • Current National Police Check, with eligibility for Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
