GM - Information Technology

Job description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Head of Information Technology to lead digital strategy, technology delivery and cyber security within a purpose-driven, regulated organisation.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, this role is responsible for translating organisational strategy into a clear, funded technology roadmap that delivers measurable outcomes across service delivery, workforce enablement, cost efficiency and risk management.

About the Role:

You will own the end-to-end technology function, including IT operations, digital transformation, information security and vendor management.

As the accountable executive for cyber security, privacy and data governance, you will ensure the Information Security Management System is maintained in line with ISO 27001 and relevant Australian regulatory frameworks.

This role balances Strategic Leadership with operational accountability, ensuring technology platforms are secure, reliable, scalable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities of the GM Information Technology:
  • Develop and deliver a rolling three-year Digital Strategy aligned to organisational priorities
  • Lead enterprise transformation initiatives including CRM, data platforms and cloud optimisation
  • Own technology governance, cyber risk and compliance obligations
  • Chair the Technology and Cyber Risk Committee and lead incident response activities
  • Ensure high availability and performance of critical systems and services
  • Lead internal teams, managed service providers and technology vendors
  • Manage IT operating and capital budgets, procurement and commercial outcomes
  • Provide clear, board-level reporting on performance, risk and return on investment
To be considered for this role, you will be a Senior Technology Leader with experience across IT operations, Cyber Security and Digital Delivery in complex or regulated environments.

Additionally you will be  comfortable operating at Executive and Board Level and can clearly articulate technical risk, cost and trade-offs articulately.

Essential Experience:
  • Senior leadership experience across technology, security and digital delivery
  • Proven delivery of enterprise-scale transformation programs
  • Strong knowledge of Australian cyber security and privacy frameworks
  • Demonstrated executive and board-level stakeholder engagement
  • Empathetic Communication 
  • Creative and Critical Thinking mindset 
  • Full Working Rights
  • QLD Drivers Licence 
  • Relevant certifications (cloud, ITIL, cyber security or enterprise architecture)
  • Experience working with managed service providers
  • Experience with working within a Non For Profit or Community Services
