We are seeking an exceptional executive to join our leadership team as General Manager Corporate Services. This is a key enterprise-wide role which is instrumental in maintaining the Port’s financial strength, governance maturity, and trusted relationships with shareholders, regulatory partners, and the broader community. 

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in whole-of-enterprise decision-making and in delivering high standards of transparency, accountability, and operational resilience. 
  
You will lead and evolve the Port’s corporate services strategy, ensuring it aligns with our commercial, infrastructure, environmental, and digital transformation goals. 
  
Responsibilities include: 
  • Financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis
  • Corporate governance, legal compliance, and risk management
  • Internal audit and business resilience
  • Corporate planning and performance reporting
  • Corporate communications, stakeholder reporting, and reputation management
You will provide trusted advice to the CEO, Board, and Shareholder Representatives and ensure that robust systems, frameworks, and teams are in place to support transparency, accountability, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting including the Corporate Plan and Statement of Corporate Intent.
  • Provide expert advice to the CEO, Board and shareholder representatives on risk, finance, and governance.
  • Oversee legal compliance, enterprise risk, internal audit, and probity functions.
  • Manage financial stewardship and investment analysis aligned to public sector and GOC principles.
  • Champion strong corporate communication, brand reputation, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
  • Build high-performing, cross-functional teams across the Corporate Services portfolio.
About You

You are an experienced executive with a track record of delivering results in complex, regulated or government-owned environments. You bring deep expertise in financial management, corporate governance, and risk leadership, coupled with the ability to lead transformational initiatives and influence at the highest levels.
You will have:
  • Proven experience in a Corporate Services, CFO, or COO role within a GOC, infrastructure, utilities, or similar regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal, compliance, financial, and governance frameworks.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • A commitment to ethical leadership, operational excellence, and enterprise-wide collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Law, or Business (essential)
  • Professional designation such as CPA or CA (desirable)
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Strategy, Governance, Risk or Law (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) and hold a current QLD Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
