About the Opportunity:
We are supporting a well-regarded organisation in the professional services sector to appoint an experienced Financial Controller for an initial 3-month contract, with possibility of extension.
Based in Brisbane’s CBD, this is a hands-on leadership role suited to a commercially minded finance professional with a passion for continuous improvement.
About the Role:
You will play a key role in overseeing core finance operations, leading the month-end and year-end process, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. You’ll also help guide finance transformation efforts, support compliance obligations, and provide insight to senior stakeholders. This position will work closely with internal teams to foster collaboration and strengthen financial governance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee general accounting, payroll, internal tax and trust functions
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support audit preparedness and compliance with financial and regulatory obligations
- Drive process improvements and contribute to finance system enhancements
- Mentor a high-performing team and support ongoing transformation initiatives
- CA/CPA qualified with proven experience in a senior financial leadership role
- Background in professional/financial services or complex, multi-entity environments
- Strong leadership capabilities and confident communicator with strong commercial insight and stakeholder engagement
- Skilled in financial systems and process automation
