About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is available for a Financial Accountant to join a leading organisation in the financial services industry. Based in Brisbane’s CBD, this 12-month contract offers the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to key financial reporting and accounting processes. Ideal candidates will have experience in financial services or be a first mover from a Big 4 firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cash calculations, trust account disbursements, and monthly financial processes.
• Manage month-end accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support ongoing process improvements to enhance financial reporting accuracy.
• Assist with hedge accounting activities and maintain compliance with AASB 9/IFRS 9.

About You:

• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards).
• Experience in financial services or a first mover from a Big 4 firm.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of AASB/IFRS standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
