Finance Officer | Accounts Payable & Receivable | Full-Time Permanent

A well-established Brisbane-based organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join a supportive and high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will suit someone who enjoys working across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, banking, and compliance, while also contributing to smooth day-to-day administration.

This is a full-time, ongoing role offering stability, a broad scope, and the opportunity to work in a values-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts payable processing, including invoice matching, supplier setup and statement reconciliation
  • Support and administration of the automated accounts payable system
  • Debt management and cost recovery in line with School policies
  • Processing capital expenditure and maintaining asset records
  • Recording and reconciling donations, pledges and commitments
  • Daily banking and daily bank reconciliations
  • Monitoring cash flow to support payroll and accounts payable requirements
  • Monthly balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
  • Petty cash maintenance and reconciliation
  • GST and FBT compliance, including correct tax coding and data collection
  • General finance administration and stakeholder support (including parent and staff queries)
  • Other duties as required by the Finance Manager and Financial Controller
About You:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business or similar
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar finance role
  • Working knowledge of IFRS, and Australian taxation requirements (including GST & FBT)
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence across MS Office
  • Experience with finance databases/ERPs (any system experience welcome)
  • High attention to detail and strong time management
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
  • Integrity, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment
Additional requirement: ability to obtain and maintain a relevant Working With Children clearance (or equivalent).
