Container Exchange is appointed by the Queensland government to manage and grow Queensland’s container refund scheme- Containers for Change. Position Overview:
The Finance Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing administrative tasks and supporting various business functions, particularly in addressing account queries. This role involves managing the end-to-end Purchase Order process, ensuring precise and timely processing of vendor invoices, and actively contributing to month-end closing processes. The Finance Officer collaborates closely with COEX's shared service partner, Container Exchange Services, to maintain financial integrity and optimize organisational processes.
  
Working within a tight knit team, in this role you will be responsible for a range of duties spanning across both accounts payable and receivable, including:
  
  • End-to-end Purchase Order process, ensuring precise and timely processing of vendor invoices.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices, input and code invoices to appropriate cost centres/Project Codes.
  • Process invoices efficiently, collaborating with various teams for employee expenses and credit cards.
  • Act as the first point of contact for timely payments of outstanding invoices.
  • Generate and run a variety of reports.
  • Generate account statements and perform account reconciliations.
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Negotiate payment plans.
  • Maintain organized accounts receivable files and promptly resolve any irregularities or inquiries.
  • Support month-end processes by providing necessary documentation for journals.
  • Suggest modifications and improvements to existing processes or controls.
